Do you have a Lego lover in your home with so many bricks they’re taking over the house? We know. The brand sells some incredible building sets that make bringing in more bricks all too easy. But sometimes, you just need to unload some of it.
Now, instead of taking those wayward bricks off the floor and tossing them into the trash, you can put them into the hands of needy kids thanks to a new pilot program from Lego called Replay.
LEGO Replay encourages brick owners to box up whatever bricks they’re no using and send them back to the company. From there, Lego plans to take the donated bricks and give them new life by sending them to the nonprofit groups Teach for America and the Boys and Girls Club of Boston.
“The LEGO Brick is recognized by LEGO owners to last for generations,” said a Lego representative in the Replay press release. “We pride ourselves on the high quality and longevity of our brick. As part of our Planet Promise, we want to help LEGO owners ensure that LEGO Bricks can be rebuilt and replayed with — having a new creative life. We found a donation partner with Give Back Box who takes safety and quality as seriously as we do.”
Lego’s Give Back Box makes brick donation so simple! All you have to do is gather up your Lego bricks and put them in the box. The best part? You don’t have to separate them by size or color or anything. You can even mix and match Lego bricks and Duplo blocks (the larger, chunkier building bricks for little kids).
Seal up the box and then go to www.givebackbox.com/lego to print your free shipping label. Attach the label and drop it off at your local shipping office. The Replay website will even allow you to print a donation receipt for tax deduction purposes. Lego has really made the process quick and easy!
So gather up some of those bricks you’ve been stepping on and bring a whole new world of play and imagination to kids and classrooms across the country!
